WoW Jennicide

Meet Jennifer Leigh who goes by her online poker name Jennicide.  She is both a professional poker player and model.  She is from Wilmington, Delaware. She learned to play when she was around two or three years old.  Coming back for her ballet class, she would sit in her dad playing Dragon Warrior and 8-bit games.

Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a lawyer, then a fashion designer but not becoming a gambler! A computer-hacking group in which Jennifer was a member introduced her to poker.  She was eleven.  Right now, her campaign managers take care of her poker business at the World Series of Poker.  She is also busy launching her clothing brand called Jayel.

The first game she played on WoW was The Realm, which eventually evolved into EverQuest.  Though she plays these games as a break from poker, Jennifer is quite an avid gamer.  All her characters are saved on WoW and she has just created a Blood Elf warlock.  It suits her because it carries her blond hair colour.  She thinks women are great gamers on WoW.

Jennicide considers herself lucky for winning right away when she started to play.  She considers raiding and poker tournaments both thrilling. She is unhappy, however, with her raiding performance.  One time, she had to leave at the final table thus ending up in third. Participating in tournaments can be tough because of the many travels involved.

Poker can be quite an obsession for players who want to excel in the game. Though this can mean one is focused, Jennicide thinks that obsessing in how to excel can also be a form of distraction.  So, she is not obsessed; instead, she regards her involvement in modelling, clothes, and poker as a dynamic movement.  When she competes in poker, she is Jennicide but this is “not always me.”

She has, in fact, posed naked for Playboy magazine.  She found the Playboy experience ‘very comfortable.’ She was in a casino wearing lingerie, was not a bit shy taking off clothes, and faced the camera naked. She also does not think that women should be super thin for a modelling career. So, she is also trying to break this stereotype.

Jennicide maintains an abiding passion for poker.  She has expressed the wish for tournaments not to be classified by gender; after all, the game does not classify by race or sexual orientation.
